We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Technician with 2+ years experience to join our team. The Technician will be responsible for building, testing, validating, and repairing Spectrum Networks products, from conception to completion, with a strong proficiency in AC/DC circuits and microelectronics, fault diagnosis and resolution, and attention to detail. They will work closely with other members of the engineering team, including senior engineers and project managers, to ensure that all products meet customer requirements and industry standards. The successful candidate will be hands-on, self-motivated, and detail oriented with an “eye” for efficient, practical design.
Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for assembling diverse components and assemblies with attention to detail.
Design, build, test, and validate Spectrum Network products as well as research and development items.
Use various test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot faults or design flaws.
Utilizes small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
Collaborate with members of the engineering team to assess designs and facilitate improvement opportunities.
Provide technical support to customers and suppliers, including the potential for some travel to key customer or supplier locations, as required.
Accurately interpret designs to write diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders, and other documents.
Keep up to date with industry trends, standards, and regulations including proven knowledge in RTCA DO-160G test standards.
Participate in establishing repair capabilities for products designed, including physical repair work within the engineering team and required documentation for customers to repair product.
Required Skills and Abilities
Associate's degree or HS diploma / GED with 2+ years’ experience working with AC/DC microelectronics.
Strong knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems, analog and digital circuits, signal processing, and control systems.
Experience in PCB assembly and repair work to include soldering and desoldering components.
Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, etc.
Experience with electrical design tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, and MATLAB/Simulink.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Self-driven with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance and direction.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Dependable and able to maintain on-call hours or occasional irregular work hours or work week.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
Experience in the aerospace, defense, or automotive industries preferred.
Experience with quality systems and requirements a plus.
