Job Description / Qualifications:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Mechanical Product Engineer with 1 - 2 years experience to join our team. The Mechanical Product Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and products. They will work closely with other members of the engineering team, including senior engineers and project managers, to ensure that all products meet customer requirements and industry standards. The successful candidate will be hands-on, self-motivated, and detail oriented and have an “eye” for efficient, practical mechanical design, good intuitive judgement of stresses, tolerances, materials, fasteners, new and old manufacturing methods, etc., and the skills to document designs, and get things built.
Duties/Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test mechanical components and products.
Create 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software.
Create detailed CAD electro-mechanical assemblies, and specific part manufacturing instructions, drawings, etc.
Conduct analyses, such as stress and thermal analyses, to ensure product performance and reliability.
Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve the design process.
Collaborate with other members of the engineering team, including senior engineers and project managers, to ensure that all products meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Participate in the selection of materials and manufacturing processes for products.
Conduct testing and experiments to validate designs and troubleshoot issues.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations.
Create products and work processes that will be documented and manufactured to ISO and FAA standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience in mechanical product design.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, inventory control software, and program management software tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience in the automotive, aerospace, or consumer products industries is preferred.
Experience designing, modifying, and building equipment components a plus.
Experience with design guidelines requirements for 3D composite printing.
Self-driven with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance and direction.
Experience with quality systems and requirements a plus.
Dependable and able to maintain on-call hours or occasional irregular work hours or work week.
Ability to travel to customer sites, as needed.
Ability to read electrical schematics a plus.
The full-time base salary range for the Mechanical Engineer I position is $50,950 to $65,050 per year.
The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
