Job Description / Qualifications:
We are an aerospace tech startup company dedicated to developing cutting edge technology. Our team is made up of passionate, innovative, and driven individuals who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals. As the Engineering Manager/Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding all engineering design efforts within our organization. Reporting directly to the executive team, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of engineers to deliver high-quality products and solutions. Your expertise in mechanical engineering, complemented by an understanding of electrical engineering principles, will be crucial in driving innovation and efficiency across the engineering department.
Duties/Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Inspire and lead a team of talented engineers by providing clear direction, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Project Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring timely and successful completion while adhering to budgetary and quality standards.
Engineering Support: In-depth and thorough knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques, including a strong proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Engineering Oversight: Oversee the design and development of aerospace products, systems, and components. Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, such as research and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the engineering team and implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including personnel and equipment, to optimize engineering output.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with engineering projects.
Mentorship and Talent Development: Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of individual team members to foster a highly skilled and motivated engineering workforce.
Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
Proven track record of at least 7 years in engineering management or leadership roles within the aerospace industry or similar field.
Solid background in mechanical engineering with in-depth knowledge of aerospace design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with electrical engineering principles to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, problem-solving, and creative thinking within an engineering team.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in the aerospace industry.
The salary range shown is inclusive of applicable allowances/stipends and reflects the minimum and maximum possible salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
